I’m going to focus on the negatives. The biggest two negatives were: (1) it took over three hours before my rental car was ready; and (2) the electric car’s batter would not charge beyond 43%. When I made the booking and when I was checking in to pick up, it was clear that I was dropping the car off at the DCA airport, which is around 190 miles from the rental pick up. After being assured the distance of the car would be around 250 miles, I agreed to use the electric Chevy. However, because 43% charge only can go around 100 miles, I had to charge the car 3 times. Each charge time was about half an hour and charging ports aren’t that populous so it would take a fair amount of time to be able to even get to the port. Ultimately, what should have at most been a four hour excursion ended up being 8 hours.

The car was filthy and had roaches. It took a long time to get support on the phone. The drop off was easy and the drop off staff was polite and genuine about the car’s condition when I returned it to them.

At no point was I informed of an additional $244 required for an authorization hold. I paid for the vehicle upfront, through Kayak. My receipt from Kayak only stated an additional $44 was needed at pickup for taxes and fees. If you do not have the additional unknown funding for authorization, and use a bank card, they up it to $500 for the authorization hold. Without the additional unknown funds, you are unable to rent the vehicle. While dropping off the vehicle another customer was in tears over not having additional room on a credit card for the authorization.

I wasn’t able to retrieve my rental because it was paid though Affirm. They needed the credit card that was associated with the reservation. I couldn’t provide a card if it was paid through Affirm. So they wouldn’t let me get the rental and I was forced to cancel. I called customer service and the guy was talking about their terms and conditions. But had no answer when I asked why it’s not in the terms and conditions to accept a reservation through a payment plan company like Affirm knowing a credit card is needed upon pickup of reservation.

I paid $350 for a rental to go on vacation. My rental was not available upon pick and no other vehicle was available. I didn't get my money back for 4 days. If I reserved a car, it should have been there.

I expected to pick up the car at the airport, but had not read the address carefully. The location on Military Road was very convenient by cab, and they gave me a ride back to the airport when I returned the car. The rate was very good. I may do this on purpose next time.

At least a month ahead of time I reserved a 15 passenger van to take children to camp. The day before I was to pick up the van, an Enterprise employee called to say that the van was not available. The employee offered no help to remedy the situation; she just kept saying, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience." I live in a rural area where the closest rental car agency is at least an hour's drive away. Though I didn't want to rent from Enterprise again, the Richmond, VA airport location had a van available. So I drove 2.5 hours one way to get it. That transaction, both pick up and return went very well. Except for the last minute cancellation, I was pleased.

I have a major credit card, but it don’t have $1,500 on it, so I couldn’t rent the vehicle I needed to go on my vacation. I was able to find an independent owner and the cost is less expensive then enterprise. For now on I will be using the independent company it’s no headache or hostile when renting a vehicle from them. Thank you but no thanks for future business with enterprise. I will be telling everyone about the company I use.

I paid to rent a vehicle from Budget at the Norfolk airport. Well, budget at the norfolk airport is not actually at the airport. It’s a mile down the road. I learned that by waiting in line at the rental counter for an hour just to learn that the agency at the actual airport was not the one I had a confirmation with. So we Uber down the the “Budget at the Norfolk airport” just to find out the store was closed. You see our flight arrived at 4:00PM and “Budget at the Norfolk airport” closes at 1:00 on sundays. Needless to say I never picked up my rental for the week because I had to be at my destination in OBX 2 hours from the airport that night. We did have the greatest Uber driver that played Baby Shark for my daughter the whole way. Thanks for absolutely nothing “Budget at the Norfolk airport” Seriously Hope Kayak can reimburse me cause Budget refused.

The receipt gave ORF as the site to pick up the car; but the address stated was on Military Circle. So where do I go. I went to the address. The place looked like it had been closed for awhile. So i get to the airport and have to ask each company if the deal with Payless. Budget does. They don’t have a convertible….haven’t had one all summer. BUT THE WEBSITE OFFERED ME A SILVER VW BEETLE CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!! Whatever happened to customer service AND INTEGRITY? “In fact we haven’t had any cars all summer!!!! But we couldn’t shut the website down.” WHAT???

No Payless counter at Norfolk airport. Finally found out after much consternation that the Avis counter took care of Payless rentals. There was no signage to that effect. Not a good start. One final surprise was a $200 contingency fee hold back added to the pending charge. How about letting the customer know before hand how much the hold back fee will be so that there’s no shock when checking your credit card account. The car, a Kia K5 LX, was great.
